With her new movie The Haunting in Connecticut 2: Ghosts of Georgia due out at the end of the month, October’s Hothouse Hottie is none other than Mad Men star Abigail Spencer.
Enjoying a limited release at UK cinemas on Halloween, Abigail stars alongside House of Wax hunk Chad Michael Murray in the sequel to 2009’s The Haunting in Connecticut.
Following in a vein not to dissimilar to its predecessor, the film focuses on a young family who move to a historic home in Georgia. It’s not long before they realise that they might not be the only ones ‘living’ in the house.
Whilst her back catalogue hasn’t seen too much in the way of horror, she has starred in a few, including 2007’s Jekyll. Based on the classic tale of The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, but with a difference, the film focuses on Dr Henry Jekyll who, whilst researching a cure for cancer, creates a computer generated alter-ego called Mr Hyde.
In 2010, Abigail starred in thriller In My Sleep, which centres on a man called Marcus who struggles with parasomnia; a sleepwalking disorder that causes him to do things in his sleep that he has no recollection of when he wakes the next day. One morning, when he wakes up with blood on his hands and a knife by his side, he panics when he discovers that a close friend (a friend who he shares a dark secret with) has been found stabbed to death. Marcus embarks on a journey to discover what happened and uncovers a truth that reveals a shocking revelation.
One year later, Abigail is back on the silver screen, acting alongside James Bond (that’s Daniel Craig, to you), in Cowboys & Aliens, a thriller about a spaceship that lands in Arizona in the late 1800s to take over Earth.
