Hothouse Hottie: Jennifer Lawrence (November 2013)
Her new movie, which also happens to be one of the most anticipated films of the year for many, is hitting the big screen this week and with few fit to challenge her The Hunger Games star Jennifer Lawrence pips all others to the post and takes the title of November’s Hothouse Hottie.
The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, sequel to 2012’s The Hunger Games, sees once again Lawrence take on the role of heroine Katniss Everdeen. The sequel catches up with Katniss and Peeta Mellark who, after their victory in the 74th Hunger Games, have become the Capitol’s number one targets.
Lawrence’s first horror role was that of Elissa in 2012’s House at the End of the Street. Elissa and her mother move into a house in a small town. Before long, Elissa discovers that an accident happened in the house at the end of the street and things get complicated when she befriends a boy who was the sole survivor of the incident.
Earlier this year, she returned to the genre in The Devil You Know, a thriller about a reclusive ex-actress with a dark secret and a daughter who is hell-bent in following in her mother’s footsteps. When the ex-actress embarks on a career comeback, she is threatened by an anonymous blackmailer and she is forced to confront the truth about herself and those around her.
Lawrence also played the roles of Raven and Mystique in 2011’s X-Men: First Class, a role that she is set to reprise in 2014 for X-Men: Days of Future Past.
