Closed Circuit – Interview with Filmmaker Andrew Loveridge
The penultimate Vampiir Bitez shorts isn’t a vampire movie, but Closed Circuit by Andrew Loveridge of After Midnight Productions packs a supernatural shock worthy of The Outer Limits
Andrew explained what the film was all about: ‘Closed Circuit follows a hapless museum security guard during his first night on duty. Unbeknownst to him, the museum already has a guardian, in the form of a malevolent spirit who doesn’t take to kindly to staff working the graveyard shift.
The project came together very quickly and is designed to be the leaner, more concentrated sister film of our previous production Nyctophobia
The two projects share a lot of similar themes and our very much a cut from the same cloth.
We love telling ghost stories, but we wanted to challenge ourselves with Closed Circuit by trying to tell a story almost completely without dialogue or clunky exposition. I am a huge fan of visual storytelling, I think if a characters motivation and discovery of a situation can be read by the audience from a performers expression or design within the frame, it makes for a more rewarding experience.
After Midnight Productions is working on many more short horror films over the summer. One has already been shot while two more are in the advance scripting stages. We are always looking for actors and collaborators to work with, so please get in touch with us either through our website
if you want to help out.’
Well Flowers that sounds like an offer you’d be mad to miss, thank you to Andrew.
