Down in the Hothouse dungeon we are big fans of Brit filmmaker Kate Shenton so we were delighted to hear that Kate’s first full length feature Egomaniac would be receiving its world premiere at London’s Horror Channel FrightFest 2016 at 3:55 pm on Sunday 28 August at the Discovery Screen One at the Vue Cinema at Shepherd’s Bush, West London.
Kate directed and wrote the quirky dark comedy about filmmaker Catherine Sweeney who wants to make a zomcom. However to secure the funding she needs film industry people want her to put a talking dog in the movie. Desperate, Catherine does whatever it takes to get her film made, even at the cost of her own sanity.
The film stars Nic Lamont as Sweeney and also features Adam Rhys Davies (The Twins Macabre), Dan Palmer (Stalled, Banjo) and Laurence R Harvey (Human Centipede 2 & 3). If it’s anywhere near as funny as Kate’s short Gimp you are going to need a pair of rubber pants!
From grindhouse to art-house, feel-good to squeal-good, blockbuster to ghostbuster Horror Channel FrightFest 2016 returns in all its gory glory, now housed at the 12-screen Vue Cinema at Shepherd’s Bush, West London, from Aug 25 – Aug 29.
In its 17th year, the world-renowned genre film festival will present 62 new feature films, embracing sixteen countries and bringing together established filmmakers, British first-timers and emerging international visionaries from six continents.
