The London Horror Festival 10th – 30th October Old Red Lion Theatre London N1

It’s back, it’s bigger and it’s got a new home, The London Horror Festival will be tingling spines and on occasion tickling the capital’s funny bone from October 10 to 30 at a new venue The Old Red Lion Theatre in Islington.


There are more than twenty shows to choose from; including horror theatre, LGBTQ cabaret, live podcast recordings, comedy, clowning, storytelling, magic, a Virtual Reality immersive film experience, midnight Séance shows AND a short horror play competition, making 2016 the biggest London Horror Festival since it’s foundation in 20111. what’s more Chattering Cenobite and all round top horror icon geezer Nicholas Vince has become the London Horror Festival’s first official patron .

Continuing the LHF’s support for new writing and providing a platform for emerging horror theatre talent is Badass Women – the short horror play writing competition designed to create more empowering female roles. Three plays have been shortlisted from the dozens of entries received across the UK and will be performed on the opening night, with an exclusive prize for the winning entry and special guest judges!

CryptTV UK have joined forces with the LHF this year to present their first immersive horror film event and VR experience. Featuring Frightfest hit feature film, Kate Shenton’s Egomaniac and CryptTV UK’s the Egomaniac VR Experience, we do like Kate Shenton so this looks like one not to be missed!

For a bit of something different after dark, there are two exclusive midnight performances of award-winning ‘Ex-Theologist turned Illusionist’ Philipp Oberlohr’s ‘séance’ – a critically acclaimed interactive experience inspired by the tradition of Victorian Séances and the Spiritualist movement.
